‘Sea Prayer’ and ‘Walk with Penguins’ were among Broadcast readers’ favourite 360° films of the past 12 months. This collection celebrates the most innovative, skilful and exciting VR films to emerge in 2017. These virtual reality experiences will be discussed at the second VR/AR Summit, an event featuring conversations and expert opinion from executives at Google, Sony, Microsoft, Vice, Sky and the BBC.

Walk with Penguins – BirdLife International

Nature conservation charity BirdLife International approached Visualise with the aim of creating an immersive film for their ‘Protect a Penguin’ campaign. Filmed in the remote Falkland Islands, we delivered a fully stereoscopic 3D 360° film with ambisonic sound. As one of the world’s first nature films shot using 3D 360° technologies, Walk with Penguins intimately captures an eye opening look at the lives of penguins and their offspring.
