Finnish telecommunications brand DNA, sponsors of the Finnish Alpine Team wanted to create the ultimate VR experience. Visualise was brought on board as the VR partner to capture the 360° action sports experience with full 3D audio. Together we worked with hassan&partners and RINKI Group to produce an exhilarating 4D alpine skiing experience, bringing the general public closer to the action.
Visualise travelled to the stunning Hintertux Glacier in Austria to capture this VR action sports film. We shot two 360° videos of the Alpine ski team, on the Austrian alps terrain park and the giant slalom course.
A custom 4D platform was constructed to create an ultra immersive experience, literally letting winter sports fans step into the boots of the Olympic skiers. Visitors to the activation donned a Samsung Gear VR headset and were transported to the Austrian alps. The experience was made much more real with 3D audio and 360° film synchronised to the vibrating motion platform, while a powerful wind fan blasted out cold mountain air to complete the thrilling VR experience.
