Virtual Reality IP Studio Immersive Tour at IBC
We’re excited to announce the launch of the IP Studio Immersive Tour, a 360˚ film that we have produced for BBC R&D to introduce their IP Studio at IBC. This will be showcased on the Oculus Rift as part of their stand in the Future Zone (8.G08) at IBC from 11 – 15th September 2015.
Now in its 48th year, the annual IBC event is the premier destination for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content worldwide.
Internet Protocol or (IP) has the potential to transform how audiences interact with content in the future. The IP Studio is central to the realisation of R&D’s ambitions and is the backbone that enables new audience experiences.
The Visualise team spent a morning at the purpose-built studio in London to film R&D engineer, Alex Rawcliffe, as he explained what IP is and how it could revolutionise broadcast.
To bring IP and the Studio to life, we not only filmed the tour in 360˚ but added binaural sound to create a more immersive virtual reality experience. We also designed custom 3D motion graphics, composited over the live action content, to illustrate what IP is and how the Studio treats production as a set of content objects, that can be adapted to suit any environment.
Since we are playing with perspective in 360˚, positioning motion graphics over live-action spherical content raises new challenges that require a completely different workflow and set of skills to standard compositing. This is another service that, along with binaural sound and 360˚ Live Streaming, we are proud to have developed for our clients.
