An Immersive Dome Experience for Vodafone Foundation

An Immersive Dome Experience for Vodafone Foundation

The Challenge

To celebrate the Vodafone Foundation’s 25 years of giving across 27 global locations, a special one off event was hosted at Somerset House in London on May 3rd 2016. Visualise was appointed to produce content for an immersive dome experience that would inspire guests as they stood inside a 21m Igloo Dome, telling the stories of the foundation’s programmes and partnerships in an immersive and compelling way.

The Solution

We produced 30 minutes of bespoke animations and films for the dome environment. Key initiatives in the Foundation’s 25 year history were highlighted including a 360-degree video filmed in Kenya for Instant Network Schools. This programme was developed with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to introduce tablet-based learning in some of the world’s most poorly resourced refugee camps.

“With your support we managed to do something different and innovative and push the boundaries with our events. I think it’s safe to say the event was a success, in no small part due to your work.”

Lucia Hayes Communications Executive, Group Foundation

Guests were taken on a carefully curated immersive journey of the foundation’s partnerships, highlighting the potential of networks, data and technology to provide connectivity and drive change where it matters, all this was set to a world music score by our music partners, Goldstein.

Additional moments in the evening included special video messages from film director Richard Curtis, Nobel Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai and Chris Martin of Coldplay Skyping in.

The Results

Over 300 guests joined the foundation and its partners for an evening of films, talks and presentations at Somerset House.
