Travel Across Bosnia

Take a journey along Corridor VC – Bosnia and Herzegovina’s new motorway — and enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in VR.

Visualise were commissioned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to bring the Corridor VC road project in Bosnia & Herzegovina to life in virtual reality. Currently the biggest construction project in the country, when it’s completed, the motorway will cross entire country from the port of Ploce in south Croatia, across the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and onward to Budapest, Hungary.

From a technical standpoint, a small (but perfectly formed!) crew of four meant we had to keep things fairly straightforward. The 360º video was captured using the Kandao Obsidian R and GoPro Fusion cameras. In order to illustrate the vast scale of the project, we used drones to capture the construction sites from the air, as well as a car roof mounted setup to capture an angle from the road itself.

Post-production was handled in-house and on a fast turnaround, with the excellent Another Tongue agency looking after the sound & voiceover. The 360º footage required stitching, stabilising and grading, and the drone footage in particular required some challenging cleaning up. Working with EBRD’s designer we incorporated some simple & clean graphics to match the look and feel of the EBRD’s previous films, these were placed into the 360º environment seamlessly.

The film was first shown on VR headsets at the EBRD’s annual meeting, and then uploaded to YouTube where it quickly became their fastest ever growing video with 85k views.
