Motion Impossible Mantis

Motion Impossible ‘Mantis’ – VR Dolly System

The Mantis is a stabilised, remote control dolly system for smoothly moving 360 cameras over mixed terrains. We even have ‘monster wheels’ for taking it on sand dunes. We’ve modified the Mantis to run on V-Lock batteries, so you can have the camera, gyro, remote monitoring system and dolly itself all running off the same batteries.

We do recommend hiring this with one of our operators or coming to the studio to get up to speed if you want to take it yourself. The setup and balancing of the gyro is the most time consuming and tricky part.

Here you can see an early prototype of the Meta Camera on the Mantis, the camera weighs 5kg so it’s able to take very heavy weights.
