Visualise and The Economist win award for GREAT Innovation with VR experience, RecoVR: Mosul

The annual BIMA awards took place on Thursday 15th September and we’re thrilled to announce that our work with The Economist Media Lab won the Jury Prize for GREAT Innovation at the 2016 BIMA awards.

The RecoVR experience was originally short listed in the immersive category, finding out we had been nominated by the judges for the jury prize was a real validation into the work we have been doing across immersive experiences.

Will McMaster, head of VR at Visualise said of the win “we’re honoured to have won the Innovator award with The Economist Media Lab. RecoVR: Mosul is an important project for us because it shows how VR can be used for good, and its fantastic to be recognised for our contribution to the project.”

Adam Graham, chair of BIMA, commented on the awards: “The British digital industry is packed with incredibly talented individuals and teams, so it’s an honour to recognise the winning pieces of work with our BIMA Awards. We hope the awards will continue to inspire and motivate companies, large and small, to create outstanding work across the digital sector. Huge congratulations to all involved!”
