Galaxy XR makes premium XR more deployable
Samsung’s first Android XR headset arrives at $1,799 with Gemini and open standards. Here’s what that unlocks for brand experiences.
Galaxy XR is the first Android XR headset. Announced Oct 22, 2025, it pairs Android XR and Gemini with Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, dual micro-OLED displays, color passthrough, and hand/eye/voice input. US/Korea availability starts this week at $1,799, undercutting Apple Vision Pro.
Why this matters for marketers
Price and openness change the calculus for on-site demos, pop-ups, and tours. Teams can target Android XR but build to OpenXR/WebXR/Unity, then reuse content on other headsets and mobile.
Practical considerations
Battery life is roughly 2-2.5 hours, so plan rotations and charging. Controllers are optional; design primary flows for hand/eye to reduce training time and lost accessories.
We’re yet to try this but it looks really promising and the reviews from the journalists that have tried it are very positive. It’s exciting to know that we’ll have premium XR that’s actually accessible and easy to work with.
