VFX Production

Visualise has an in-house team of VFX specialists, producing a range of content from viral social shorts to ‘FOOH’ (Faux/Fake Out of Home). Our clients include the NBA, Tiffany & Co, Van Cleef & Arpels, Louis Vuitton and the artist Fiona Banner.

We have 3D artists, animators, texturers and lighting specialists. We also have our own unique render pipeline to help export and deliver projects against tight deadlines.

Producing convincing VFX work is hard. It’s easy to spot a fake. Difficult to make a product look just right, with convincing reflections and textures. We sweat the little things, they matter so much in VFX, it means we get great results for our clients, vital for those in the world of luxury and jewellery.

Successful VFX projects start with planning – lots of it – first just talking and then followed by storyboards, iterations of these until we’re all aligned. Next up is animatics – rough 3D walk throughs of the project, getting the positioning and the pacing of the experience perfect. Finally it’s the fun stuff, making it look damn nice. We love this bit – giving finesse, something you can be really excited to share with the world!

FAQs

What VFX work do you specialise in?

CG and VFX for immersive and out-of-home: fake out-of-home (FOOH) films for social, anamorphic 3D billboards, CG integrated into 360° footage, and full CG spectacle like our rampaging dinosaur for SEGA’s Two Point Museum launch and King Kong out-of-home piece.

What is a fake out-of-home (FOOH) film?

A CG event staged convincingly in real footage of a real place – a giant product on a landmark, a creature in the street – made for social feeds rather than the street itself. Our NBA Paris FOOH film is a good example. The honest framing: FOOH buys social reach and talkability, not physical audience – if you need people standing in front of something real, that is a different brief.

How much does VFX production cost?

There is no honest flat rate for VFX – the cost lives in shot count, simulation complexity and how photoreal the integration needs to be. A single-shot social FOOH film and a multi-scene anamorphic billboard campaign are very different jobs. Send us a storyboard or even a rough idea and we will give you a real number quickly.

Can you make our billboard look 3D?

Yes – the effect is called anamorphic or forced-perspective content, built for corner screens like our 3D billboard work for Piccadilly Lights. The honest caveat: the illusion works from a sweet spot, not from every angle, so it suits locations where footfall naturally passes the right viewpoint – we will tell you if your screen is not one of them.

Do you handle 360° post-production for footage we’ve already shot?

Yes. Stitching, stabilisation, clean-up, grading and CG integration for 360° material, whoever shot it – like our 360° post-production for Castrol’s Renault F1 film. If the rushes have problems we will tell you what is recoverable and what is not before you spend on the fix.
