The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed took place last weekend in the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, bringing together hundreds of thousands of fans across three days.

Visualise had two virtual reality experiences showcased at the event, for Mercedes and Audi. The three immersive films for Mercedes-Benz built on the content that was developed for Mercedes at the festival in 2014. Users could drive the Mille Miglia in a 300 SLR with Sir Stirling Moss on the 60th anniversary of his victory in the same car; experience driving a Mercedes Petronas F1 car; or ride in an AMG GT on the Laguna Seca raceway. Using Samsung Gear VR, the experience allowed for dynamic angle changes from users, with thousands of visitors trying the experience during the festival.

The Audi Driving experience took place in a special facility built on site at Goodwood and featured a custom made motion chair, programmed to accurately move based on the VR driving experience. This added element heightened immersion in the experience, a 360 training video for Audi that utilised the cutting edge Oculus DK2 headset. The ambitious experience was the second that Visualise has produced for Audi at Goodwood, with the simulation programmed in house, and content produced in collaboration with Vertical Productions.
